Our School History
Swedru Senior High School (SWESCO) was established in the year 1959 by Ghana's first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, as part of his vision to expand quality secondary education across Ghana.
Located in Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana, the school has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected secondary schools in the country, known for academic excellence and character development.
The school's motto, "Semper Cum Optimist", has guided generations of students who have gone on to become leaders in various fields including politics, medicine, law, engineering, business, and the arts.
With its iconic Black and Gold colors, Swedru SHS continues to uphold traditions of excellence while adapting to modern educational standards.
